The Chinese Temples Committee (the Committee) is a statutory body established in 1928 in accordance with the Chinese Temples Ordinance (Chapter 153). One of its functions is to operate and manage 24 directly – administered temples, of which six of them are Declared Monuments and two Grade I Historic Buildings. Also, other popular temples include Che Kung Temple in Shatin, etc.
In 2023, the Committee decided to revamp its official website to continue promote traditional temple culture and customs by a user-friendly interface with graphic design. VICOSYS was appointed to design and develop the website
The team developed the website for the Committee using the open-source content management system “WordPress”. The website features a responsive design, ensuring a user-friendly experience for both desktop and mobile users. It integrates multimedia content, such as temple aerial photography and temple distribution maps, allowing users to have a more immersive and in-depth understanding of temple history and promote Chinese culture.
